They might have picked somebody stockier for the part, sure, but Routh made an honest performance.

I`m mot too sure on that. Although he did a decent Clark Kent, most of his Superman scenes showed him like if he didn`t even made an effort at all, just too distant. His face didn`t expressed any emotion, and Superman is supposed to be one of the most involved with his duty heroes.
And, the end of the plane scene? Newsflash: SUPERMAN IS NOT SPIDERMAN. SUPERMAN TRING TO BE FUNNY=FAIL.

What, the "safest way to travel" line? Actually, if you'll look back, Christopher Reeve used more or less those exact words after saving Lois from the falling helicopter in the original Superman. He wasn't trying to be funny, at least not in the same way Spider-man does.

Anyway, cool picture. By the way I saw the movie, and it was pretty good.

I've been kept busy on work and trivial matters, though I have had the opportunity to take a few trips. Apart from the family reunion last month (where I drew both Superman and the sketch of my cousins), I also went to Harborfest, an annual festival that takes place near Lake Ontario. My work has been slipping lately, and I'm not proud of that, but I mean to catch up.
I saw the movie, and I thought it was pretty good too. Even saw it in IMAX the second time around. Routh gave an honest performance, Spacey was actually a more menacing Lex Luthor than Gene Hackman, and I liked how Singer tied it in to the first two Superman films, however loosely. I'm more of a Batman fan by nature, but I've come to respect the character of Superman more and more over the last few years, and this was a really satisfying piece of work.

I like this image of yours. Perspective could use some work, but on the other hand it's masked by your angular art style. Most of all I love his pose and his expression... it's VERY Supes.

I'm glad you like it. You're right, my perspective does need some work. I mostly have trouble keeping everything in proportion right down to the vanishing point.
For the longest time, though, I've had no end of difficulty just nailing the look of Superman, that expression that makes him distinct, and I'm not talking about that spitcurl.
