Description What a clever, subtle, yet pertinent, totally and recognizably appropriate title for this! LOL! I just thought I'd give it a simple, and straight forward tag of "Sea Turtle". I drew (real word?) this for the wall behind the fish tank at work. This is a copy of the original penciled version. I used a 2mm lead holder with a 4B graphite, a standard .5mm mechanical pencil, and a tortilian.

Thanks so much, my friend! I'm envious! They are beautiful and, I understand, naturally long-lived.

This is indeed a stromg piece, Harold. Shape, detail, shading, proportions (in perspective)...all comes together well. Nice to look at!

I like that you chose not to add any surrounding elements, which would have only cluttered the image. Because of what I know about sea turtles, I see the turtle floating in the sea! What more is necessary?

This is awesome, you do truly have a gift when it comes to drawing creatures
I've been wanted to draw a parrot lately, think they would be good for me to experiment with color. We'll see.

Thanks Stephanie! And thanks very much for the fave! Yeah, parrots are so colorful and exotic. I think that a parrot picture, done right, could provide/illustrate a color wheel (using the various colors of feather and beak as well as the environment [e.g. brown branch, green leaves, red fruit, blue sky, orange sun, white clouds, etc].
