i love the drawing but how would he move in real life with that armor could he put the sword in front of him with two hands? i ask cuz i would like to model and animate that

well the main shoulder parts are not attached to the rest of the armor. so they would just move up and down with his arms and rotate along with his shoulder.

Your designs are awesome! but in 3d they don't work... this character can never cross his arms... would be cool to make in 3d though...

hehe yeh, thats cus I don't have to think if they'll work in 3d or not. If I'm supposed to make them work in 3d I would design them to and make a model sheet for the 3d artist to follow.
so I could redesign this guy to be more mobile but it's just a character concept commission. If you want to commission me to create a model sheet of any certain character for you I can.

I really like this piece a lot, the lighting on the face is both interesting and dramatic, very keen use of reflected light. I also dig the grasping of the cape, very slick. I so love complicated designs, but i hate inking them. That arvalis character sheet i did kinda burnt me out on hyper detailed characters for a while, im starting to take it easy with these new demon characters. How long would you say that it takes you to ink something like this?

I don't ink, I just scan the original lines and make em look nice in photoshop.

I can only assume that this character is in some way based off of you, as his features and yours (from your picture) are quite similar - though he is necessarily a bit more aged.

Well despite the slight likeness that most artists put of themselves into their work, I wasn't intending that it looks like me, but yeah I guess it does a little.
