Quick watercolor painting with reference from this photo >> sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos…My first try watercolor on stretched paper, it's quite interesting, the paper soaks up so fast but when dries it is completely flat and the color also looks nice
My gift to a friend, who along with me and , had a great trip in last February. This is my first self-organized trip with friends, to Moc Chau, a town 200km away from home

I had tried to use once a long time ago but it was terrible because I hadn't used the right paper for watercolor, then based on my first watercolor post here it was 4 years ago, I started again with watercolor pencil after found out that the best paper for watercolor is 30gsm paper

but im barely starting so im using 140gsm and crayola. i don't want to waste my money on more expensive stuff until ive gotten the hang of water coloring

yeah 140gsm is fine with watercolor too. I use this paper to this picture
When stretching, I leave the paper in a bathtub to make sure the paper is completely soaked and then tape it on a table overnight. You should try with cheaper papers to experiment first
with this method you can use light weighted paper without worrying that it'll be torn and wrinkled if you use too much water, but the color won't blend like on normal 300gsm paper
