Description
I was going through all my older drawings, trying to find some sort of WIP to potentially finish up. That's how I jumpscared myself with an image of this lady, who I immediately decided to finish. I guess I was just drawing random OC designs, but because I'm extra I decided to give her a backstory.
I imagined that, in a distant future, Larisa had been a bartender working amidst androids making a steady integration into society. Standard Sci-fi affair, basically. All the while, she spent most of her time off the clock spending time with an old coworker she desperately tried to hide romantic feelings for despite how obvious it was. After many girls days consisting of riding motorbikes and helping each other stave off the crushing allure of nihilism, Larisa had begun to find some sense of normalcy and routine in her ever-changing home.
Although this safety was short-lived, as soon, as her friend is severely injured upon an android's mind turning hostile, electing to attack the bars patrons and staff. Although Larisa and a few other people were able to tear the android up some before authorities arrived, their group efforts and medical assistance was far from enough. Even as Larisa desperately ripped out the robot's synthetic hair to use as makeshift stitches, her friend died soon afterward right in front of her.
Since then, with little means to afford therapy, Larisa works waiting in a much smaller establishment; one with much heavily security. While Larisa continues to carry herself confidently, even boasting about the incident when asked, her survivor's guilt heavily weighs onto her. Despite bleak voices wanting to plague her mind again, she's trying to hold on to some sort of meaning to see things through hopefully. Not just for who she lost, but to not lose the person she could become.
(She'd still obliterate an android if it fucked around, though. Absolutely. That's her green light to gut some circusbroad in half)
