Nice work But is the quote actually from the book? I've looked through the pages and haven't been able to find it. If it is there, which chapter is it?

Thank you so much for the kind words and Both were greatly appreciated   As to quote, you seem to be right I can't find it in the book either.  It may be from one of the play/movie versions, but since the image is 10yrs old I can't say for sure. I will remove it and look for another quote to add later.  I get most of my inspiration from books/movies, and for a long time I would search for quotes online if I did not have the inspiring source material on hand. Probably a bad idea in hindsight .

Oh no, you should keep the quote! Just note that it's from some stage adaptation. The idea of a crocodile woman among the beast-folk - that's interesting, since Moreau seemed to mainly work with mammals, so a reptile would really stand out!

Thank you. I will do that.  I had not thought of that way, but your right, Moreau didn't work with reptiles did he? It makes sense given his aim, cold blood could cause additional complications if humanization is the end goal.

Very true. Still, given his obsession and ambition, who's to say he wouldn't have tried it one day - if not for that certain incident with a puma?

I absolutely loved the dark imagery of this story you've chosen to represent.. and you've more than done it justice. This is fantastic image work.. the skin on her face gives me goosebumps!

I love the little messages that accompany your work...
It was a really creepy, scary story not much of a film though - poor Marlon!

This works so well, sinister yet beautiful at the same time. I really love the way you've used texture.

Strangely enough, my last picture is a half face and I tried to do some texture on it, but I find the blending quite difficult to get the hang of but I’ll keep trying!
It's my version of the Snow Queen, it didn’t turn out exactly as it was in my mind but it was still fun to make!

Hope all is well with you

Thank you Sazrael. Indeed all is well, thank you for asking. New images may be a little slower in coming for awhile, as I have let too many other things go for to long. Sigh. Anyway, I agree that this story was creepy and thought provoking, and that the film was sorely lacking. That is too often the case.

I am glad you enjoy the quotes/messages. I like to see if I can sum up the content of an image or my thoughts on it in only one or two lines. Its a little challenge that I set for myself to keep life interesting.

I agree that working texture into an image can be quite challenging. I like to use it though, because it adds so much to a picture. It's definetly an exercise in trial in error, however. Usually more error than trial, trust me I know . I'll be sure to stop by your pages and check out your latest work.

Be well

My friends just call me Saz, I know we're not exactly friends as such but I would like it if you did also - well if that's ok??

I know you do a lot of reading, and I was just wondering if you had ever read Wuthering Heights?
I would like to try and do a picture based on that, but I'm not sure what yet.

Hope you manage to sort out all your other stuff, and I very much look forward to seeing your new work when you get the chance!

Take care

Of course its ok, I would be happy to call you Saz . Indeed I have read Wuthering Heights and I think it contains many scenes and concepts which would make excellant images. Please let me know if you decide to give that idea a try, as I would be very interested in seeing what you came up with.

Good I'm glad!

I'll let you know when i've put something together, it may be a while yet because I need to try and take some photographs and there are certain images that might be difficult for me to get! Alas, where I live there's not much in the way of beauty here to capture.
I have a real love for the book, and although I did write a poem about it (not that i'm any good at writing) I've been a little concerned about doing a picture.
But we'll see how it goes, i'm sure i'll be able to put something together

Ah good. I know how difficult it is to get certain images, as you have probably noticed I resort to 3d programs to create a particular work if I can not find pictures that meet my requirements. Searching for images can be very entertaining in its own right though, I have found some really wonderful stuff out there, usually while lookin in vain for somthing else. I am glad to hear you are going to proceed with your idea. I understand your concern about adequately representing a work that you like, but I am quite sure you will do it justice. Good luck.

Thank you, I very much appreciate your advice and encouragement

I've never tried looking for images on any stock sites, I wouldn't know where to begin! But perhaps I shall investigate and see if there's anything I can use. So far I've only ever made pictures from photos that i've taken, which is why sometimes I find it difficult to get the image in my head on to the computer!!

Thank you. No worries about the double submission, have done that myself. Yeah, I just switched from Photoshop 7 to CS. While I like the new tools CS came with I hate the new preview feature for the filters. It takes way to long to come up. But I've already moved all my custom stuff to CS and deleted 7 so I guess I'll learn to live with it. Thanks for taking the time to look.
