I've been trying to tone down my HDR processing lately but I'm starting to think that artificial structures like this place cry out for the HDR treatment; my mistake, arguably, was using it with nature shots.

it all depends on your style.. I actually beta-tested photomatix back when it came out and basically pioneered the effect here at dA .. haven't looked back.. I initially took a lot of flack for it because it's not to everyone's taste and is frequently overdone..

Well, that was my problem--overdoing it. You'll notice some of those shots in the earliest section of my gallery; some of those I'm going to revisit to tone them down. Others, I'll leave. I'm certainly delighted to have the option of the software at hand, though, to be sure!
