Did you use the texture tool in Photoshop to do the Ground?

yeah, but i use dodge and burn, when you right-click, look for the grass pattern, set the flow to about 5-10% and make it small to about 50 px. Start at the farthest where there is grass, then increase the size of your pixels little by little as you come closer (also works with brush) You can look for Background tutorial in Deviantart also

I experimented a little and it works like a charm. Looks like I won't need to worry about 2D grass much.
