"Hey, I want you to meet someone!"

Neji turned, pale eyes falling on Naru and the taller boy standing beside her. Dark hair hung loosely around his shoulders, brown eyes smiling softly as he stood at ease beside the younger girl next to him.

The Hyuuga was immediately on guard.

"This is Haku - the two of us go way back."

That much was obvious. From a young age Neji was taught how to read others - by studying minute twitches, inflections in the voice, shifts in stances, he could determine just about anything about a person that they would try to hide.

Of course, such was the case until he met Uzumaki Naru. Admittedly he had despised the hyperactive girl upon their first encounter. She was wild and unpredictable and never did what he expected her to. It was annoying, it was frustrating... it was a part of her endearing charm.

He wasn't entirely ready to admit how he felt about her - after all, there was no way for him to tell just what she was feeling or thinking. However, watching her now, how close she stood next to this 'Haku' person, how bright her eyes were, how wide the smile on her face was... nevermind how he seemed to be giving off the same vibes.

'Haku' was still smiling, extending his hand in greeting. "It's nice to meet you, Hyuuga-san."

Years of training in polite manners and decorum hand him reaching out and shaking it with a cordial nod. "Yoroshiku," he muttered.

Naru was still grinning, her eyes still bright.

He didn't like it. He didn't like it one bit.

Ehh, not quite what I wanted, but I'm still running on 65% power due to this stupid cold.

At any rate, this one's been sitting in my sketchbook awhile. Considering how many times I've drawn Neji and Haku looking like each other, it was about time they met face to face, ne?

Haku's sweet and polite, Neji's polite and inwardly threatened.

Question is, what's he gonna do about it...?
