Coloured much bigger then I usually colour my pictures O_O I got this idea ages ago, and I sat down and doodled it far too close to the top of the page
A scan and a colour later, and you have this. I love the composition, and the fact that I managed to draw that many birds from memory and a good few of them don't look completely fecked up. My colouring, as always, leaves some depth and more then just a little skill to be desired.
In any case, it is Kayain. Yes, he does indeed have Rope in his hood again. I think it's a good place to keep him. Yes, he is standing out in the rain on the roof. He's a little bit strange.
I love green skies ^_^
EDIT - I hope to have prints of this at AVCon, if anyone's around O_o

This is probably the saddest excuse for a comment ever. ALMOST A YEAR LATER and I am finally commenting. That's how backed up I am in my deviations centre. Actually, this is probably the oldest one in my inbox, and it's finally time to comment.
This is gorgeous. I absolutely love the melancholy feel of it. Because it's just glorious and beautiful and dark. I love the effect of rain.. and the crows that seem to be gathering. It's a very eerie piece, and I love it!!

Wow, that's quite good. The atmospher of the picture is very dark and compelling. The pose is very scarecrow like, even though Kayain appears to be autonomous. This is imaginitive. Good job.

MEthinks I shall be picking up a print of this from AVCon this year, as it spanks ass like nobody's business. I still find it impressive that you manage to routinely produce so much art with all the other time-devouring activities you undertake. This does lok very nice and smooth, the birds have a very natural look and feel to their motions (and motion captured very well btw), and although I knew the gender already, it did put me in mind of a female. I think it might be the big comfy-looking shirt he's got on - it looks like comfort clothing (if that makes any sense), something which not many males are prone to doing. .....and I like the colouring. I think it came out very beautifully.

This picture is awesome. The birds are wonderfully done, the texturing of the feathers is brilliant. I like the angle you chose for it, it gives an almost kaleidoscopic out of control feel to the piece.

Simple but good. I like the "cloud tunnel" in the sky. Nice effect. Not sure that it looks like she is actually getting wet apart froma couplr of drops... Almost needs a lot more splash and drips... Just my 2 cents.

It's basically that very fine misty rain, so I didn't want to have too much water flying around everywhere, but I'll be the first to admit that my cg water skills leave something to be desired

Actually at the time I thought it could be either... given little indication of age or facials...
Can I suggest for a more misty rain:
Apply a noise effect to the layer's blending options,
Rasterise the layer.
Apply a gaussian blur to it.
