Description
Happy New Year everyone!! I just want to thank you all for your support in 2015 It was a great year, and only the beginning (once again) of far greater things to come!
Starting up my Patreon account was a big step for me to take, so thanks to all my patrons who have supported me! Seriously excited about creating and sharing future content releases with you
So, its another year, and we wonder what it might hold. We hope for what we want it to hold and hope for what it wont... but I'll just say on that note that its so damn easy to get lost in those future desires or worries to then only become a slave to the future (time). This keeps yourself out of the present moment where there is no time and things are actually more fine and more awesome than we are aware of. We think we need things like owning cool shit, gaining achievements, having new experiences, etc. to feel the moment, because we don't feel like its worth embracing otherwise. We have trained ourselves so intensely out of the present moment that we no longer even know how to embrace it unless our specific personal conditions are met. Learn to feel every moment regardless, even the ones that we spent our lives running from. Just feel it. Embrace your feelings and not the thoughts that try to corrupt and dominate the feeling for its own agenda. Just feel. Its the only way to truly start grasping the moment, because what it holds goes far beyond thought. Your thoughts will only get in the way.
This probably wont make a whole lot of sense coz theres far more to it, but this is part of what I've learn't in 2015 and its starting to release me from many of my personal struggles. This path ain't easy, especially when there are so many distractions, but this is the path that for me personally, feels right On that note, it doesn't even matter, just follow your own path and what feels right to you because you are already well on your own way on your own unique path and no one can tell you what that should be, not even me, so I've just defeated myself at everything I've just written XD Just be you. Not what others want you to be or what you think others will be more accepting of!
Haha, anyway, the artwork attached here isn't really related to this New Years post, but I'm glad to say that 2016 is going to be about me testing out other art software. This was a test I did on a program that was given to me for free by the developers, and I really think that leaving my Photoshop comfort zone is really going to broaden my horizons a lot. I will announce the actual software soon with future uploads once they've sorted out a few minor issues with it
Much love and awesomeness to all!
Warren

I love her hair! It really looks like she washed it and tied it up and now it's dry enough to cause fly-aways.

Got to break the loop indeed, break the loop of thought that leads you astray .
Easier said than done though, just got to find a way to trick yourself, in covert or overt not so conscious ways.
Write some words on paper to read every morning to start the day in the now while also not beating yourself over it if you don't...
It's a thin line to walk this balance between dreams and reality, between sanity and insanity. Between caring too much n caring too little... yin and yang in motion... But I think you already know all that, you already know what to do n what not to do. Or better, somewhere inside yourself you know all that, and it's those fragments of your personality that will find a way to keep you on track when the time is there. Just keep working on it, it never ends (same goes for progressing creatively, whether it's drawing things or cooking food or a habitual act like... shaving... There's a finesse to these things that comes by doing it often enough so it becomes second nature... anyway, before I go on on tangents n keep ranting (to feed my own ego, lol) I'll leave it at that just good luck out there, dog eat dog world!

Beautiful work. Those skin tones, so smooth. Wish I had unlimited Patreon funds.
Hope the new software works well for you, I never could get used to Photoshop myself, prefer Painter, and will be trying to get Photoshop under control this year (but I am a pretty low level artist so far in my early experiments.) Wishing you a better 2016, I can understand struggle so all the best.

That's the main reason that, despite it being the 'industry standard', I haven't really made friends with Photoshop yet, never the less I am determined to make it work as a goal of 2016. Painter is the one that comes naturally to me, not only in the way it has a more natural feel to its brushes, it's pencils in particular (and I will do any and all sketching in it due to it being so much like the real thing) but its shortcuts and workflow feels better for me, feels more synced up with my Intous tablet and works well with my multi monitor set up (turning my main into portrait mode and pushing my tools and palettes to another monitor)
It's also amazing what you can do with just one brush by fiddling with a small number of variables on the fly.
I've tried most software, PS, Sai, Manga/Clip Paint Studio, Sketchbook, Krita to name a few in finding one I can comfortably use while learning. Painter wins.
Now all I gotta do is learn how to paint

Cool, then Im really excited to get hold of Painter! Was also wanting to try out Sai, but will see.
Well just do studies and do them repetitively so you actually learn the things you study. There is a book I started reading that I recommend, called "Drawing on the right side of the brain". About learning and training which part of the brain to use which is best suited for learning and creativity. Its quite a book and has helped countless people!
