Journey fan art!I bought Journey on an impulse while browsing the PSN store, not knowing anything about it other then that it looked nice and that it was made by Jenova Chen and "thatgamecompany" who made Flower.
Yeah “Nice” is nowhere close to describing the look of that game, it is gorgeous beyond belief; hauntingly beautiful music and an ending that can make grown men cry. Never before have I played a game that was presented so well and that has left such an impact on me.
It’s a game I can’t recommend enough, and I think I might do some more fan art of it in the near future.

Its a PS3 exclusive. You play as a nameless cloaked figure who explores a desert and the ruins of a long lost civilisation on your journey to a great mountain in the distance. That simple explanation doesn't do the game justice though.

If you do, make sure you are connected because the game is meant to be played multiplayer (if you are connected you will find a player automatically), it adds so much to the experience.

The journeyer in this picture appears to be walking away from the mountain, which in the story of the game is a denial of their life purpose. That "refusal of the call", to use the language of the "Hero's Journey" can be a poignant subject of art in its own right.
Did you make an intentional and conscious choice that that's what you wanted to represent with this piece of art?

I had no such thoughts in mind; sadly the answer is so much simpler and less meaningful. It was just the most recognizable landmark in the game and I didn't wanna have the traveller turned towards it so that you would mostly just end up seeing it's back.

I love how it peeks into the cloak to show the glowing symbol.

The glowing symbols was hard to get right on the scarf. I also made a mistake, and the symbol on the chest doesn't match the one on the cloak

The impact hits hard, every bit of artwork provided on this site has shown the overwhelming dedication and heart people have taken from what they spent in less than 2 hours.
No less done here, the shifting sand is a great effect used here, the tone has been set really well with the colour.

Yeah, no 2 hours of gaming has ever has such a big impact on me before. Journey is special that way, a definate case of quality over quantity. It might only be about 2 hours per playthrough, but its 2 hours that will stick with you for days or weeks.
