My MYO Vicarris:

Yule belongs to one of three houses whose legacy dates back ages. Often referred to as the Houses of the Three Kings because the founders of each house were crowned in horns.

They had a reputation for protecting those that could not help themselves and giving more than they received. Each head of house was crowned in horns and they bore a mark of one of the gods. One born the dust of stars, one a mark that took the form of a star and the last their pelt flowed with a gentle guiding light.

In the dead of winter when things were scarce and evil things lurked too close they guarded the small villages their songs like bells ringing over hill and dale to bring comfort, and not only did they offer protection but in the dawns hours when the first of the residents would come out of their homes they’d be greeted with gifts that had been left, food and toys for all.
And over the years this has continued, some believe the King’s were granted immortality to continue their noble traditions.
But the truth is far more bright, in their kindness, they found others who were less fortunate and took them in, teaching them and guiding them and with this the tradition has continued.
Yule is among those who were saved and nurtured under the roof of one of these houses.
An orphaned pup crowned in horns, who when he walked it seemed a frosty mist formed in his wake.
He was given the name Yule, and taught to always help others.
And now he carries on the tradition holding in his heart a bright message in dark times. His song echoes as crisp and clear as a winter wind but bright as the stars to light up the bleak midwinter, and fill the darkness with hope.
And those who hear his song feel safe to know that he is out there in the snow.
