Now before any of you lore geeks becry this "innovation": consider it a modification from the beginning of the whole Terminator program, when it was a free-for-all era for new and innovative designs to equip the then new type of battle armor. The reason this modification fell out of favor is the obvious disadvantage that it STILL is kinda risky to use ona battlefield, and modern space marines wearing tactical Dreadnought armor are well-trained enough to swiftly reload their storm bolters with smaller mags or simply attach their storm bolters to anammo crate mounted on their back if they reaaaally need a ton of rounds. The only reason why this mod may pop up in M41 is if the user needs a good amount of bolts, has little time for reloading, actually can make use of the additional layer of protection, and the storm bolter itself is not of a - standard pattern featuring two linked boltguns ...
