Description An American soldier stops by a dead German soldier after the capture of Aachen. He mourns the death and understands the reality of war, and the costs it takes to defend ones country.

We are all human. It's only natural to mourn for other humans.

As a matter of fact in WWII, I heard that about 70% of Americans never fired dirrectly at the enemy for the fact that they just couldn't take the life of another person.

It can really make a drawing look way better. Just keep at it, look at reference. That's what I do.

Very well done and a gorgeous piece...it is truly human to feel for anyone, even the enemy. Well done again.

Nice job here mate.

Yeah, I heard of this 70% of Americans never fired at the enemy too. But I heard as well it's because 60%? couldn't find the enemy to fight, for it was the usual same 30% in the front constantly fighting the Germans.

Very nice picture. I don't think I could take a persons life unless they were a threat to me or my family, but it would still be a huge burden to hold. :/ This pic really made me think. Thank you for posting it

Thank you for the comment, and the fav as well.

And same here. I could never take another humans life unless mine or anyone elses was put in the way of harm.

Very true. The only reason they did that I would guess is because in that situation it's ether kill or be killed. All the things that happened durring that war, who would blame them? Most of them have never even held a rifle before.

Really true, when my dad was in training he said alot of them were down right scared of rifles.
