I think Dazzler's mad because Emma ended up being the sexiest blond on the block. I mean, Dazzler got stuck in D-list loserdom with some horrible husband with a mullet and second-rate Scarlet Witch powers while Emma got to have all kinds of flirtations with Banshee and got with the leader of the X-Men.
That said -- Dazzler really is the biggest thread to Emma if there ever something went down. Emma may be able to turn into diamond but Dazz has those sneaky lasers that can cut through it.
I love Em's outfit here. Was it inspired by the Terry Dodson UXM#500 look? And the scene itself reminds me of an issue of X-Treme X-Men when Storm knocks Emma out in an attempt to trick the enemy. Didn't work out so well. But it somehow made Em and Storm all friendly-like.

I liked it because it reflected that not every woman is a DD. Kitty has never been tall or big-boobed. She's just not the typical sex bomb. She's the bookish nerdy girl with an A-cup. And that's cool because it makes her different compared to the bootylicious Storm or the busty Emma Frost.

Ali should be punching Chris Claremont for giving her the shaft years ago. When the X-Men expanded into all those books he sent Dazz into that dumb ass Mojoverse with that mullet-headed moron instead of letting her be a player in one of the books. All those wasted years. Claremont did treat her well in New Excalibur but in the end he screwed her again by bringing Longsnot back into her life. (And sleeping with Pete Wisdom?)

It's not Claremont's fault if NO X-writer brought her back when she went off to Mojoverse. You can clearly see that he was going to do additional work with the character but he left the title (presumably from an editorial mandate or behind-the-scenes drama from Jim Lee's popularity) before he could.
Fraction hasn't done ANYTHING with her so it's fairly unfair to say that he turned her into a "shallow sham of a character". Other than showing her being kind to Pixie, being a super dance diva and kicking Psylocke's ass -- Fraction has done nothing with or to her.

I saw it on Uncanny 500 variant cover. She wore this costume but she got the long hair on and also the brown glove. She's sitting upront with the other X Babes. The cover was done by Terry Dodson.
