Description TOP: My first fantasy interior image, it is the enchantment chamber in the school, and where one of my main characters end up working with.
-The monitor thing in the middle isn't a computer monitor, but a book holder for reading.

-Enchantment is more crafty. One has to pass level 4 test for destruction, healing, defending magics in order to become an apprentice, so one has a basic knowledge of these most common magic. Then one needs to gather a bunch of materials (almost like alchemist) to perform long term enchantment or make crystals/jewels for short term.

-The short term enchantment is known for flexibility, you can always detach and attach different jewels, they are cheaper for sure. The magical circuit on the weapon/armor/accesory/clothing must be universal
-The long term ones are more expensive, but more effective.
One can design a magical circuit just for that specific enchantment, so enchantment would be way more effective than the short term universal circuit. Since these circuits are more complicated, sometimes they are very decorative as well.
-Once a craftsman gathers all the materials such as magic mushrooms and crystals or monster horns, he/she would handle these stuff by grinding them into pieces or powder, or cook, bake, soak and finally make a magic painting liquid.
Then they will have a simple ritual to "activate" the magic liquid and fill in the magic circuit.
-Enchantment craftsmen usually maintain a good relationship with the smith, so that they might get a few extra coins during the best business seasons.

BOTTOM: My first shot to Design Pearlia (As viewers you have probably seen her before, in my scifi versions and chinese versions, so this is her western fantasy version), she specializes in teleporting magic and enchantment crafting (unfortunately I don't have her working uniform designed yet, and she probably needs more winter clothing). Her style of clothing is more medieval, more domestic than being a mage with cloak or sexy skirts. In this version, Pearlia is a widow, she is 80 years old now (still very young for a moon elf though). I definitely need to push these designs furthur, but right now just to have a general idea of how she dress herself. I should probably keep her suit plain, to make sure she looks like an apprentice or lower level mage. These figures are drawn on the paper initially, and I thickened the outline to define the figures better.

Wow, the characters are great, but I love all the detail in that enchantment workshop. There's a definite sense of style to it and all the little bits and pieces in there make it feel like a truly lived/worked in place.

Just for my curiosity:
How long does it takes you to achieve this level of quality?

Love your work, out of curiosity did you begin by drawing mainly on paper and then work up to computer drawn art? or just take the plunge? As a very amateur artist I was wondering whether I should learn the basics through classic pen and paper or learn it through a computer program as that seems to be the way to go for the art styles I like to draw.

Thanks for you time

Beautiful! Did you construct this on paper, or did you use SketchUp? I always wonder which path I should take.

I construct in photoshop by building perspective lines first, but I do make the most basic geometry in sketchup just for a composition reference sometimes, never trace though. Hope that helps.
