Description
This is a version of Lirael, from Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy. Lei reminded me about those books. Liarel in her library gear here.To anyone who hasn't read the Abhorsen trilogy, I highly recommend it. It's about "reverse necromancers" who put to rest souls that have been re-animated by evil necromancers. The book is set in two countries - one medieval, one resembling Europe circa WWI.

At the point I drew her, she lives in a system of caves dug into a glacier, and works in a dangerous and mysterious library.

Hey, this is really good! One of your best, I think. I'm a big fan of portraits and interesting-looking characters, and this definitely fits the bill.
I haven't read the book, but the turban-like thing on her head as well as her garments and dagger give me a kind of Arabian Nights vibe.
The head is really the best- she looks great!
