When you add anti-aliasing, you shouldn't only stick with single pixel buffers. Lines at steeper angles require more pixels of anti-aliasing. Lines that are perfectly diagonal usually don't require any, except maybe at the corners.

These sprites aren't made by me btw but by the Super Smash Bros Crusade team. I just made them transparent. But as far as I see, these sprites don't use anti-aliasing.

There is antialiasing on almost all of these lines. Inside of the sprite, I mean. There is no outer antialiasing.
