Thanks for taking the time. Mad Hatter and Clay Face were on my list, but fell off. I actually had Mad Hatter in the original thumb, but took him out because I had drawn several mad hatter type characters in the last few weeks. Weird how that happens. I am sure I will get several people who bring that he is missing. and really thanks for The Spirit nod.

Mad Hatter is not a huge villain anyway, hell I would put Clayface above him, but no man, you have a fine representation of the rogues gallery showing-did a great job man.
Eisner would have gotten a kick out of it too(R.I.P)

It was a fun piece to work on. Drawing all the characters was actually pretty entertaining, thinking of this expressions and poses, especially in the limited space.

This is got be one of the most awesome pieces I've seen in a long time. Loving the blue tone throughout the whole thing, and if I had to choose, The Joker, Riddler, Bane and Mr. Freeze stand among all the rogues as the best.
Fantastic work overall!

Thanks, I really appreciate it.
Those are my favorite villians as well. I think the joker may be one of my favorite villians across all universes.

I definitely wasn't disappointed to see your entry in PUMMEL...
but I think you could've pushed the characterization more;
You've really got a great knack for that.
I also think Manbats arms/ wings are diminutive.

How did you go about laying down your perspective, whenever I have to put down perspective on a large scale like this, I usually mess up somewhere, and it gets wonky...

Walter-Ostlie In reply to cjekim [2011-03-22 02:43:11 +0000 UTC]
The trick is to have a large workspace. I buy large pads of crappy paper from office depot. the size I get is 27x30 inches. I tape my art paper to this large paper and then draw all the perspective lines. I will lay a bunch down before I start drawing.
If you look at [link]
you can see all the red lines2nd and 3rd images. The large piece of paper allows me to move the vanishing points further away so the perspective won't distort. If you vanishing points are too close you can get a kind of warp view that is technically correct, but looks wrong.
hope that helps. Other options would be to do them on the computer and print them out or there is a trick.
Draw two perspective lines that look correct. Measure the distance between each line on the edge of each side of the paper. then you can use that distance to find all the other perspective lines. Time consuming.
