I think, walking into this conversation, you are denying a lot of people their opinion without properly hearing them out. Obviously, it is entirely up to you whether or not you choose to do so, but if you're going to go about your way of expressing your opinion I would heartily encourage you to open up your view and engage with the content that many thousands of people support rather than making an excuse and refusing to try anything beyond what you want to see.
I think you're a reasonable individual and it would be worth your time to gather information from all sources rather than just a collection that go along with your narrative. Does it not seem odd to you that people like me and many, many others disagree with that particular POV? I hope that perhaps this may help you rethink what exactly is going on and of course, after gathering more information that isn't point blank, go from there whether or not you have some healthy criticism about Gamergate itself. I want nothing more than to improve this industry and from my personal involvement amongst others proGG, they too want just that. Judging from your journal, it seems we both share that goal.

What reasonable individual thinks that thousands upon thousands of people have gathered together just to harass women out of the gaming industry (0 successes on that front, so far. Anti-gamergate has had a few though), and that all the corruption and colluding they have exposed in gaming journalism is just a "smokescreen"?

Don't link wikipedia. The article is under a lot of scrutiny because several of the editors are anti-GG and have been banning people and deleting their changes, and basically are making the article very biased by omitting a lot of information.

The subreddit that bans anyone who doesn't toe the line in saying "GamerGate is all misogynistic neckbeards!" is an even worse source. It's like doing an investigation of the Holocaust and asking Hitler if there's proof of the Holocaust happening. Neutral people asking for information there have been banned, any topic that tries to say "well isn't there some actual corruption here" results in a deletion and likely a shadowban.
And one of the major points of GamerGate is that there is collusion and corruption going on within journalism, particularly gaming and tech journalism. So saying "here are a bunch of articles about the same subject and saying pretty much the same things" is really only further proving the point. Oddly enough, it seems like people who have done their research into things tend to be neutral about the whole thing, or end up pro. There's hard evidence of the corruption, and it baffles them why people are screaming misogyny because the can go right into the "lair of the beast" on 8chan.co and not find any of it. (On that note, we're not afraid of contrary opinions, since it's far more effective to determine the truth through evidence and action that plugging ears and kicking the person out, lest they make one question the narrative.)
The key isn't that 100 people said something. It's where those 100 people got their information. Did they do extensive research on their own? Or did they look at the hearsay from other articles and journalists and decide to do what everyone else was doing? Or perhaps they have a vested interest in stopping a public investigation into journalism, and will say anything they can in order to hamper or end the investigation.
Because of course, it's all about forcing women out of the industry, isn't it? 3 months, and we haven't had a single success. It's almost as if that were a flat-out lie or something.
Anti-GG, on the otherhand, has been pretty open at forcing out men and women who won't listen and believe them.

Also, If you've been paying attention, the Wikipedia article has been locked down and is under investigation for being edited by biased editors. (Ryulong, who is vehemently anti-gg to the point that he cites BUZZFEED as a credible information source because the article was anti-gg, was locked out recently)

Wikipedia gets its information from mainstream journalists.

All I'm gonna say on that is that I've seen feminists call for things like male castration, but I've never seen a professed MRA call for female castration. And overall, is your point "GamerGate is about harassment because these websites said so"? If it is, you're going to let other people tell you how you should think, what you should believe? "The News" isn't "the truth", that should be abundantly clear. GamerGate isn't relying on "The News" for it's information, its looking at the actual numbers and statements made, the screenshots of conversations and the email listings that went between journalists.

Most of the threats allegedly coming from GG are from third party trolls, not GamerGate. The anti-GamerGate threats are coming from the groups which GG opposes.

I've heard the opposite from anti-GG's side. I stopped caring loooooooong ago, I'm sick of both sides by this point, as there's no reason the sides even need to be in conflict. The situation becomes clear when one realizes that most of the claims leveled against GG are false. The accusations of "misogyny" simply do not hold up. The reality of the situation is that virtually all of GG is concerned about ethics in journalism and free speech, as well as protecting gamers and gaming from denigration.

I was kind of just hoping it was finished by now. I'm way more pissed off by Tumblr's self-vicitimisation and how they treat people with mental illness, aka pretending to be them/self diagnosis and (allegedly, haven't seen it myself, but then again, I don't Tumblr) discouraging sufferers from seeking actual medical help. THAT gets me way more angry than 'this journalist slept with a game developer'.

Tumblr honestly scares me sometimes, sure there can be good or interesting stuff there...but I choose to pretty much avoid it because of all the many various crazies there :/ Those kind of people just piss me off in general, the feminist extremists on Tumblr are some of the worst for me with how they almost make rape something trivial just with how frivolously they throw the word out there or what they seem to regard as a rape >_>
