Description This... thing is Morso. It became all too known to many Finnish children growing up in the mid-nineties. Co-starring a low-budget puppet show (along with a donkey and a cat), Morso was some kind of monster who was, despite Its hideous appearance, supposed to be a kind and caring friend.

Of course, the kids watching the show knew better. There was something horribly wrong in Morso. It was evil, like the clown doll from Poltergeist. The very world presented in the show was influenced by Morso's ruinous powers, turning it into an undead mockery of life itself.

Now Morso has been trapped into another dimension, but It is gaining in strength even as you read these words. The dreaded cult of Morso worshippers has spread its influence all over the society. In their nighttime blood orgies, they perform unspeakable rituals and human sacrifice in order to free their master from Its bonds.

Soon Morso will return and remake the world in Its image.

Soon...

The Un-dimension of Morso, of course. While the Monument is designed to provide the worst possible experience for its victims, it still operates within the boundaries of our universe's laws of physics. In the native realm of Morso, there are no laws of physics; only the mindless, infinite insanity of Morso.

Then, suddenly the skyfoogle swoops in, and takes Morso out, completely eradicating him from existence. Well, not completely, his demented demon world melts away, until all that's let is a puppet.

His current form is probably a sword capable of cutting through cohesion-amplified ultragraphene armor (or even the fabric of reality) and drinking the power supply of exosuits and of course, the souls of those killed by the sword! The portal to his dimension is probably located on Junkyard and he would be unbound once either Captain Darridan or General Larris inserts the sword into the Eschatologist Artifact beneath the Palace of Order.

Vumpalouska In reply to admiralnatsilane [2019-04-16 04:50:33 +0000 UTC]

Darridan has never been seen with a sword, though (although he has retractable monomolecular arm blades for self defense, among other internal weapon systems).

However, some rumors among the crew of the Rhubarb Sky indicate that their Captain has been carrying something small and black in his pocket, occasionally holding it in his hands and staring at it for extended periods of time.

Sounds more like the Eye of Sheerian than the Slayer of Kings or Drachn'yen.

Which star nations are most likely to join forces with the Everchosen of Morso?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Vumpalouska In reply to admiralnatsilane [2019-02-17 16:44:19 +0000 UTC]

No one would willingly join Morso's side (except as a means to escape the suffering It brings through blessed insanity), but if its the Outsiders you're referring to, the Paradigm has many things in common with the Outsiders, being considered alien and inhuman by the rest of the human space. At least some Paradigm residents might feel something resembling kinship with the Outsiders.

admiralnatsilane In reply to Vumpalouska [2019-02-17 17:19:07 +0000 UTC]

But then again, nobody outside of Clan Darridan will know that Captain Darridan is the Everchosen of Morso even though every star nation except for the Solar Union may make him Warmaster of their combined space navies because they otherwise cannot stand a chance against the Harmonics.

Vumpalouska In reply to admiralnatsilane [2019-02-17 17:39:30 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm, Darridan is certainly a senior Captain with a lot of authority - not to mention a secret weapon in his pocket - but it is still unclear whether the other Outsiders would accept him as their collective representative. Their greatest weakness is their lack of unified command structure and central authority - even if some Clans might support Darridan, others might not...

admiralnatsilane In reply to Vumpalouska [2019-02-17 22:52:20 +0000 UTC]

General Larris may force the other Outsider clans to throw in their lot with the Everchosen when he deploys his fleets of Grand Liner killers against them. While General Larris may tell a partially true story of escaping from the Everchosen's clutches through sheer wits and killing numerous Outsiders in the process, the Everchosen may have arranged for those escapes because he received visions of General Larris's future bloody wars of conquest and the vast legions and fleets who would throw in their lot with the Outsiders out of desperation and vindictiveness.

...But could one trust visions from something like Morso? Who knows how many plans within plans there are, and where they all originate from...

Except his "Eye of Sheerian" may be associated with another god/Evermind program.

Maybe that was what the Eschatologists sought to avoid with their mass suicide-- and the Eschatologist artifact the Palace of Order is built over may have been the very portal to Morso's Hell Dimension that the Eschatologists unwittingly built.Β
