Trying to get some joy off of Star Wars, after the bad taste of the sequel trilogy. I had an image in my mind for a X-Wing leaving a planet, it was supposed to be a easy and quick sketch but I got excited and decided to polish it a bit more and tweak the x-wing with a nice paintjob.The cool thing about doing space images is that anything goes, you can toss any crazy colors you want that it is perfectly fitting.

Copycat movie. You can't make a movie that rips off a dozen or so plot points from the original film fresh. I knew then that tuning in to the later films was a waste of time. J.J. Abrams should stay with Star Trek. He had no vision for Star Wars.

I was so underwhelmed. And I say that as someone who was genuinely looking forward to it. There were things in it I liked, but not enough to make up for what I thought was a crappy story.

It's not even Han's death that got to me, the whole thing feels artificial to me. And even the action scenes and ship designs feel like a step down from what Star Wars has always given us. The ships are a huge disappointment, aside from a few cool Star Destroyer designs and the Raddus they're straight up butt ugly.
Will I remember the battle of Starkiller Base? No, I will be back on Hoth or Scarif. And Hosnian Prime? A planet indistinguishable for Coruscant? Meh. More was established about Alderaan to make me care when it was destroyed, Hosnian Prime I'm not even sure was referred to by name onscreen before it went nova.
Disney helmed Rogue One and the sequel trilogy, why does Rogue One feel infinitely more true to the SW spirit than the sequels? I could go on and on about all the things that make the sequels feel like a disjointed mess, but I probably don't have to.
I say give the rights back to Lucas. Eventually Disney will expand to GM levels of bloated and need to shed some weight.

I'm furious that Luke is dead and that the Jedi Order he tried to restore died before it could really take off. THAT tears it for me. And is emblematic of Disney's lack of imagination.
I'm sticking to the canon where the Yuuzhan Vong invaded. Screw the Disney fanfiction with a budget. 30 years of canon trumps a five-year old patch job.
But I will say that Rogue One IS a good Star Wars film, I absolutely am one hundred percent a fan of that movie. More Disney-branded SW films need to be closer to that.

That was NOT how I wanted my childhood hero's story to end. I didn't see the movie but Mark Hamill, SUE somebody.
The Battle of Scarif is the best battle since Endor and it was worth it for Kaytoo and of course, Vader.
