Oxalaia Quilombensis 🦖
Ever since the discovery of the paddle-shaped tail of the spinosaurus I wanted to paint this big boi. I decided to draw the Oxalaia, the Brazilian spino. Its fossils were found in Maranhão, Brazil in a quilombo region, that is where its name stands for.
I'm not sure if the Oxalaia is a new species or a sub-species of the Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus. Unfortunately we have only two fossils of the Oxalaia which are very similar to its African brother, we know for sure it is a spinosauridae, but not if its body had a sail.
