I would wait forever if I had to because I don't feel alive when you're not with me anyway.


I find this hard to say, but I failed at doing this shoot.
It's not that I don't like the photographs I took, because I do like them, but they aren't what they were supposed to be.

I changed it! Thank you all so much for your advice hope you like it better now.

Ik bekeek je foto's en als eerste viel deze foto['s] mij op. Om eerlijk te zijn viel de linker foto het meeste op. Het is een heel krachtige foto! GE-WEL-DIG! Vooral het licht en het contrast.
Het is alleen jammer dat ik niet dezelfde kleurtoon/stijl terug zie in de rechter foto. De strepen op de achtergrond kan je nog wel verwijderen met photoshop [gebruik de healing brush of het kloonpenseel, dan heb je een egale achtergrond] Maar er is ook wat met de houding van het meisje, ze lijkt ietjes naar voor te buigen en niet rechtop te zitten. Dat had de foto zoveel sterker gemaakt. Kijk maar eens rond op dA en vergelijk jou foto eens met andere fashionfoto's [dan wel de populaire, je hebt fashion en je hebt fashion ] En vaak vraag ik nog bij mezelf af wat die ene foto zo bijzonder maakt. Moet nog wel even zeggen dat de rechterfoto wel goed is qua compensitie!
Ik hoop niet dat je je aangevallen voelt, het zijn maar tips voor een volgende shoot.
Maar ik blijf erbij dat die linker foto geweldig is

Ik ben het met je eens dat de rechter foto een stuk minder is. Mijn idee was om het een zachtere foto naast de harde foto te zetten ivm het concept, maar eigenlijk is het gewoon een mindere foto naast een wel goede foto. Ik weet nog niet wat ik hier mee aan moet, ik denk eigenlijk dat ik nog een keer een nieuw portret ga maken voor naast de linker.
Het is trouwens geen fashion foto, en niet zo bedoeld hoor. Het is meer conceptueel, en fashion foto's stralen vaak meer kracht uit dan dit imho, maar het is idd altijd behulpzaam om naar beter werk te kijken om je eigen werk te verbeteren.
Ik voel me niet aangevallen hoor, comments als de jouwe zijn juist de beste, omdat je er wat mee kunt.

Nu snap ik je concept ook weer een beetje beter Wat je kan doen is om tijdelijk de rechterfoto weghalen en als je een nieuw portret hebt dan die er weer naast zetten. maar dat moet je natuurlijk helemaal zelf weten

I kind of like the offset of the 2 different sized images. I don't really have a fave of the 2 but I think maybe if Anouk was looking down slightly, it would give a little more of a feeling of pensiveness? Maybe it's just me though...? On the whole they both work well together. Have you tried this in black & white?

It might have been a bit better if she looked down, I think it would.. I have wondered a lot about this portrait, since I don't dislike it, but it's just not it for me...
I haven't tried it, no! The warm colours gave me a nice feeling when I made this, so I decided not to edit too much. But I'll try the B&W!

Die foto met et klokje vind ik fantastisch, de foto met Anouk wat minder.

Nou eerst maar de klok: Ik vind deze foto echt heel mooi, t klokje is vet (echt zo mooi oud), en het is goed neergelegd met het klokje enzo. Goed licht en zo. Dus niets op aan te merken.

De fotovan Anoukvind ik qua kleur een beetje vaag. Vooral de achtergrond vind ik er niet zo goed bij staan. De eachtegrond lijd een beetje te veel af door de te hoge verzadiging. De uitsnede had wat mij betrefd ook wle wat anders gemogen: een beetje vande linkerkant eraf. Ik vind het licht op anouks gezicht wel heel mooi. Het is virj zacht zodat het me een beetje aan zulke mooie marmeren beelden doet denk, snapj?

Objectief genoeg? (A) ik ben eiglijk niet eens zo critisch op mn eigen fotows eiglijk

Je hebt helemaal gelijk wat betreft die foto, het is echt fijn om iemand anders te horen zeggen hoe het zit, want je kijkt nooit objectief naar je eigen foto's hÊ (het zijn toch een beetje je kindjes )
Maar ik heb deze foto gekozen om de uitdrukking (en het is een spoedgeval) dus snel op dA gezet voor kritiek. Hier kan ik echt wat mee, de achtergrond is erg rommelig, dat kan ik jammergenoeg niet meer veranderen, maar aan de kleuren ed kan ik wel wat doen, en de uitsnede ook want het origineel is ruimer genomen.

ik vind de foto vna anouk nu een stuk beter de achtergrond is nu niet meer aqfleidend en de uitsnede is veel beter

i dont think you failed, as such
but i think what might be the thing you dont like.. is that the photo of the girl might be better if it was less cluttered. as in less different colours. i dont really know what i'm talking about though, your photos are always much better than mine

I really, really like it, concept-wise
and the close-up of the hand is a very strong shot! I love it
but I think the one to the right is a little bit lacking. it could just be her pose (I think looking out like that, but tilting the chin/left side of her face towards us would look stronger) and the background.. looks like too much of a light color, yet not enough to balance it. like, if it were cropped to be the same squarish size as the hand then I think it might work better, because the light and dark backgrounds would contrast better: right now they kind of make awkward wavey shapes, to me.

does any of that make sense? I hope I helped!

I agree with you, the portrait is just not it.. it's not a very good portrait and the background is disturbing as well. I might look for another portrait to go with the left photograph..
