Description Chello everybody, this is a turnaround I did for my Senior project class. I'm thinking about changing the color of his clothes, but I am not sure yet. As of lately, I have not been able to post or be active on this site, because I have been extremely busy with a lot of projects I've been working on, but once the summer comes around, I will be pumping out more colored illustrations. I will also be posting some of the animations I am working on for class. Well, I hope y'all like.

Is there a trick to correctly foreshortening parts like the arms and legs and pretty much everything else? Its been throwing me off for a long while, especially trying to position the feet correctly.

not that I know of! I usually just use reference if I am not sure.

Awesome! How do you go about making turnarounds? Is there a book for it? I want to make one but don't know where to begin.

Thanks! I usually draw the simple forms of one position and draw lines across the paper to line all the forms up. In other words, if I drew a circle for the head and an ovalish shape for the body, I would take a ruler and draw lines across the paper indicating where in the other views the top of the head and bottom of the head would be. I would do the same for the body. Another good way to do turnarounds is to look at a professional's turnaround and just copy their poses but using your character.

Using basic forms like in this example really helps to create your character.

I really hope this helps.

Thanks! When I figure all this out I'll upload it. I thnk the main problem for me would be making a character with really complex hair from every angle.

Ya that is sometimes a problem. You should find a character from an animation with a similar hairstyle and look at the way they look in different angles.
