Gallery | Tumblr | Instagram | Facebook | Twitter Whaaaat? Finishing early...?Well yeah. Here's day 29! In truth, this was more of a random sort of thing to test out a landscape ratio sketchbook with a bit thicker paper. It's like 5.5 x 13. Still all fits in the scanner, too. I'll likely be using that for designs as well as just practicing things like this. Maybe get myself used to focusing a bit on the background instead of having people floating or sort of barely grounded on scenes you can't see.
Check out the instagram if you wanna see the photo I went off of, too. I did take the picture myself and cropped a section of it to practice. Not a photographer but hey...instagram is doing things to me....

[Updates:] Week 4 and just the event in general is nearly over! Polls will be up tomorrow morning. I know I cheated some days by throwing it back to old finished pieces, but I loved this week too. I think I might stay with traditional a while longer than the event. I'll have to talk with my prize winners of course, though. I wouldn't want to promise a digital piece and then give them something totally different...without asking fi

Excellent work for a background to another work of art, e.g., one of the characters you drew- the blank white field in the center, will focus attention on whatever you draw over it. By itself, it seems incomplete.

I did think about going back to this one and using tracing paper to position a character in the foreground looking out over it, but generally for Inktober, I was trying to "finish" the drawings within a day, which in some cases meant abandoning them or counting them just as practice, like this one.
