En Recner was born an only child to a middle class Mec-Leo family on a highly populated, multi-species colony world. He grew up surrounded by aliens which turned his interest to biology of all creatures at a young age. Just after graduating pre-school, his parents died in a vehicle accident leaving Recner an orphan. He was transfered to an orphanage in a different city, but he wasn't there for long. A wealthy Zyc-Hyden couple adopted him and he moved to their Villa on a tropical backwater planet and his new multi-species family. He had a quiet life up into his late-teens, until he left for college to study biology and medicine. After graduating, he had trouble finding a good job in his career, and turned his interest to the military. He went to basic training and then went to post-medical academy and became a field medic and multi-species biologist/researcher.
