On other hand, what a poor moron! He should went to the sea in a big ship with several guys and mabye very ugly women (to avoid that the mermaids try to seduce them. So while he would be being seducing by the mermaids their companions could catch them with fishing nets!
With this he could keep the readhead one as her captive....and who know maybe from to be a sea-monster whose only whish is to kill poor humans she could change and find the love with the human and even to have a family (like in some old stories about mermaids and other sea-women creatures.)
