My second and final entry in Neikoish's Son of the Philosopher contest [link] This is for Category 2: Alchemy.

This picture shows Elian and Rollo halfway through a co-operative alchemical transmutation** - they are performing a simple transformation of iron into gold. This is Elian's first time so he's concentrating very hard and is a bit nervous. Rollo, on the other hand, is as cool as a cucumber

I used lots of references from google so I hope everything looks ok. I also used public domain pictures of wood and a plaster wall stock [link] from .

**Instructions for co-operative alchemical transmutation:
1. Prepare for the transmutation: Clear your workspace and place three lit candles in a triangle. In the centre of the candles draw the symbol for what you wish to transform the base material into. Place the material over the symbol and enclose everything within a circle.
2. Place the palms of your hands against that of another alchemist. This creates a circle and helps to amplify your energies for the transmutation.
3. Draw the energy from the candles into your hands. It will start to mix with your own and you will see bright light and feel intense heat. This chimeric energy can be channeled either clockwise or anticlockwise, but both parties should agree on direction before starting or the energy will disperse. DO NOT BREAK CONTACT or the energy will turn into a potentially lethal explosion.
4. When energy production has leveled out, move your hands downward simultaneously and touch the material to be transformed. The reaction will take place immediately.
NOTE: Only experienced alchemists should attempt to use extra candles/energy sources because the process becomes harder to control.
