for an old friend, who needs to it for a project related to his course, which is odd cuz why would a mass comm student need to produce fashion sketches? the amount of bs in some courses nowadays, even in mine sometimes. alright, maybe i'm being really closed minded... ok i take that back.anyway, the theme's meant to be "a royal feast" with a futuristic slash white, green, pink scheme. it's in conjunction with a new shopping centre opening in singapore? enlighten me, y'all hear about it? you can never have too many shopping centres... never. topshop, diva, cotton on, a grocery shop (i actually forgot what the grocery store in SG was called), i mean that's all you ever really need right? oh and a hawker centre, you just can't not have that.
i didn't really think about this much, some of the sillhouttes aren't even futuristic, i could have done more with the menswear. the second design is sooo typical i dissapoint myself. i am rather happy with the last dress. in fact i'd go as far to say i'd trash the first 3 and keep the last one.
mm... so critical lexei. but hey, i also did it all in 30 mins! yay record. but quality suffered.
ahh well, off to my sewing machine!

I can see the futurisitc-ness in them, though not promintently so. I'm no fashion expert, i'd not have picked out what would be considered typical or not.

Just because of the future theme here, it's reminded me, did you watch The Hunger Games? What did you think of the fashion clothing of the futuristic upperclass there? I thought it was amazing- and legitimate. Like.. how it kept some of the old look to it, but had completely different fabric, like... shiny and bright in colour. Which you perhaps would have if your whole world was now chrome and white.

oh i'm, doing fashion in uni. and well, sewing is indispensable. my sewing skills are so mediocre i don't even...
i've seen it, i loved the books, and the movie was nice. but the fashion, it's nothing we've not seen before. effie's especially. the way you described it, old but different fabric, if you like it i reckon you'll like alexander mcqueen's collections too. in fact, effie does wear a pair of gold mcqueen boots in the movie.
are we talking about the scribbles here? my friend, who i drew this for, specified a colour scheme, pink, green and white. i did not have free reign on that. this green and this pink makes my men look like strawberry gummies.

I don't look into fashion too much, I only really know of alexander mcqueen, and there are a few pieces by him which i -really- like... for example [link] this, for example. And the neck of the butterfly dress.
