Thanks! I really just felt like going all out on this one dragon drawing, I'll definitely have to put as much or more effort into future projects.

Thank you! That was actually an effect that I was having some major troubles with. I had to do it like three times before I was satisfied with it. And then I decided to give the dragon a kind of ventilation system. Which is why there are streams of hot air blasting from the cracks in the neck and wings.

ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY LAYERS. You are a madman. Brilliant, but nonetheless mad. The amount of detail you've put into this is insane and totally worth it. I also love the slender design of the dragon, instead of the big beefy dragons you see more often in a traditional fantasy setting. The Greek inspired architecture really works in this too, it suggests that this Magma dragon might've been worshiped or something and adds amazing depth to the image overall, since I imagine it would be difficult for a dragon to craft such things themselves, though it's possible. The perspective and composition work together so seamlessly and this background certainly isn't boring at all!
You're rockin' it, keep up the good work!

Thank you very much! Yeah, I may have overdone it a bit, and I just counted the layers and I was actually off. It wasn't 190 layers, it was actually 208 layers.... >__> Yeeeaaah, that kinda happened accidentally. The more I experimented on this drawing, the more I thought "Oh, but what if I added this?" and then I kept adding detail after detail after detail... and then it started slowing down my computer just to open and save it... But I like how it turned out, so it works in the long run.
And you would be correct about the dragon being worshipped! It may be slighty hard to make out, but the greek entryway in the foreground has a group of people presenting treasure to a dragon for his hoard. I was always fascinated by the idea of dragons running anything from towns to entire kingdoms behind the scenes and reach a point of somewhat godhood in the eyes of their people.

Actually, I haven't ever drawn Kirby before, probably because I've never played a Kirby game before either. I have a friend that is a Kirby fan, but the most I've seen is a bit of gameplay from a few of his games and the Smash Brothers Games.
