Matt Smith is the 11th Doctor. I am bored = pointless creative stuff on 11.His face is supposed to be hidden, 1. Because of the TARDIS light, 2. Because he's still new, and uncovered, and undiscovered, we have no idea what he's going to look like (in terms of clothes and expression or air) or what he's going to be like.
And it makes him look that little more mysterious
... And emo, come to think of that...

I just hope we get some real alien stuff going on during his run. With 10 it was all about Rose, the Daleks, and how emo he was.
