ART TRADE WITH penguinkissus !!!!! omg I have a lot I want to say, but the first is a big thank you for art trading with me!! I can't even remember who asked who or if we just decided this on the spot or what even happened, but I'm grateful to art trade with such a lovely person and amazing artist!!
I'm totally not used to detailed OCs at all, so this was ra struggle for me, but in a good way! I purposely chose to draw Pengu's OC Mili so that I could practice patience with detail >u____>>> because I had no patience honestly LOL //but I'm hoping it's not as noticeable 8D ehehe. This was my first time drawing like detailed pigtails, detailed shoes, a detailed shirt, a detailed everything LOL, but it was a really fun experience! I'm so happy that I was able to trade with you, Pengu!! GIVE ME MORE OCS TO DRAW!! my M side is showing //slapped
The coloring style for the shoes and shorts is something I kinda developed a while ago, but never really put to use as much. I only figured out how to use it on blue colors, but idk how to really use it on anything else 8'D! Either way, I think they look really nice and have a different texture from the rest of the coloring! The coloring style for the hair/bow/eyes was inspired by bara-chan ! I love her works, so please check her out!

Don't apologize for the details, babe!!! I purposely accepted Mili knowing that I'd have a love-hate relationship with the details, but in the end, I think the details she had really helped improve myself as an artist as well!!! //still rely on some copy-paste but I won't hold it against myself for too much haha X'D
Honestly, I was so scared that the hair would turn into a color vomit >_> That was like my greatest fear because hair is my weakenss but I'm happy I was able to pull it off ;w; I was also kinda scared that this coloring style might alter your OC a little bit because your reference had more pale colors and these colors are kinda the "slap you in the face with our brightness" kind of colors
ah I'm just relieved that the hard work I put into this paid off ;w; I'm so happy you like it <3 I spent like 3 days on it which is so much more than I usually spend on chibi art, but I feel as if I've moved forward with my art, even if just a little bit! Thank you for the opportunity to do something for you and for the opportunity to better myself as well ;w;

When I saw this in your WIPs I didn't expect it to be finished so quickly! I'm amazed at how much you added so quickly, and I think it turned out really well!
The colors work really nicely together, and I especially love the way you drew her hair! It's super colorful and lively, and draws my attention about as much as her eyes do!

It's very detailed too. I really like the little triangles you put everywhere. They give the drawing a more sparkling feel to it I think.
I still don't understand how you know where to put the shading and stuff... Whenever I shade it look like...
The only thing that looks a little of to me is her face... It kinda looks like the face is turned more than the head, if you get what I mean.

ooh as for shading, I like to study where other people place sahding -- under the bangs, below the skirt on the thighs, below the neck, etc etc. ! just keep practicing and also try to imagine your light source!
ahh I totally understand what you mean! I think the face probably should be tilted counter clockwise but what I meant was for her head to kinda be leaning near her shoulder as if she's giving you a curious side glance ! I honestly kind of like it even though it deosn't make sense anatomically 100% but I say this without actually seeing what it would look like if I fixed it so I'm a bit biased XD
Thank you for being honest with pointing this out btw! I really appreciate it because it's so rare for me to have a comment where someone tells me that something might be off! In future art, I'll keep a lookout for the face turn thing and decide whether I prefer the correct anatomy or that slight face tilt X3
