Only crit is that the foot on our left doesn't look completley planted. I know it's finished- but for future ref- Maybe move the heel to the other side of the foot by just a little bit to increase balance. I like this overall, nice to see some solid traditional stuff! Keep it up!

You think so? Hmm. It was dark, so I could have looked for some more darks within darks. though, it might not have been planted. When I first did it I was thinking of it planted, but for some reason (probably no sleep, the shoes were the last I did) I might have changed it. I'll look at it again and see. It doesn't really bug me when it's hanging on the wall though.

Very nicely done. Makes a good impression. Couple of things. The location of the pit of the neck and the angle of the clavicles, the length of the left upper and lower arm and phalanges, and an exaggerated shoulder to shoulder slope without any obvious twist in the rib cage. Also, a bulging of the skirt even though the knees are not bent and the hips aren't turned. I suspect you worked over days and the pose changed on you.
But still, great colorwork and impression and my guess is a good likeness etc....

Very nice. Good artistic interpretation. The skirt hangs from the hips but I see an unusual bulge on the side around the knees. You are taller than the portrait. The pose was challenging because of the slope of the vertebra and the perspective. Great job still. This is difficult work so congrats.

That's the way the Hakama hangs. That "bulge" is just the way the fabric is because of the sewn in pleats and how I've been using it for martial arts. It also hangs from the hips from the photo, but it's above the hips in the painting. The legs also look shorter because it's such a large painting that the legs need to be foreshortened because in person you look down at them. I also did it to a lesser extent in the face, but in the other direction.

This is gorgeous. You did a great job, and I love that you've incorporated another interest into your painting. It was awesome to see all the WIP pics too, and see how it came along. The finished piece looks great!
