You thought I was gonna stop at just one? you've foolsI'm in a bit of a Kingdom Hearts thing rn so forgive if there ends up being a number of KH-related uploads. I love this boy to death and I need him to be okay.
Sorry for the mess of lineart, I kinda just had the urge to draw a Zexion and no real plan and I sat down and went into an art haze for the afternoon. You know how it is. Also! Here are some extra doodles as I was figuring out his face.

Yeah, agreed! Actually, the only org members that I don't like are Larxene and Siax. Not a big fan of Xemnas but he's just so so. I hope all the others get ok endings somehow.

Idk, it seems like anything and everything is getting a place in KH3. I can't imagine how they're going to pull it all off in 50 hours. Demyx's character has been developed pretty well, but no backstory. Marly somewhat in CoM, but Larxexe doesn't have a lot of details on her for me to draw from.

It is looking that way! Even just the trailers have fulfilled a lot of what I was hoping to see from the story, so I'm very excited to see these beats play out. They are doing the Lord's work over at Square.
And absolutely, Demyx is an interesting character. I always found it enjoyable how he was incredibly powerful but was never motivated to do much. And that he figured out the hearts thing?? Still interested to know about that one, unless he was just prodding Sora. I'd say Marluxia and Larxene are like, pretty darn flat, but I find Larxene's snarky, bitch queen aura to be vastly more entertaining to watch on screen than Marluxia's ever-stoic regality. I had a lot more fun watching her take our hero of light and pissing him off effortlessly. Honestly I have trouble getting attached to certain characters like Marluxia or Luxord, but I would happily welcome learning more about them. I very much hope to get attached if they are given more screen time!

People always say the Demyx fight is so easy, I have no idea where they’re coming from. Winnable, yes; easy, no. Everyone likes Demyx so I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him. One thing I do like about Luxord is the way he talks. I don’t gamble or play games much at all (except real games, like KH and FF) but his dialogue is ear catching to me. I don’t know why I like Marluxia, yeah, he is kind of flat but for some reason I do like him. I would like Larxene way more if she didn’t have such a hideous laugh (or didn’t laugh so much). I think in order (not chiseled in stone for sure) I like; Roxas (duh), Zexion, Vexin, Demyx, Axel, Xigbar, Luxord, Marluxia, Lexaeus, Xaldin, Xemnas, Larxene, and then Siax. But some of these are so close, it could easily be switched around some.

I've heard that Luxord is Nomura's favorite (though I don't have sources, just rumors, so don't quote me on that one,) so I suspect he'll be having some significance more this game. But totally agree, the VAs for the Org members are great and Luxord's does a fantastic job. On that topic, I consider Larxene's laugh some great work by her VA. Pretty sure she's meant to be suuuper hateable and grating so I think it's normal to dislike her. I'm just weird hA
Ooooh good list tbh. Uhhhh I would say my order from favorites to least: Zexion, Axel, Vexen, Saix, Larxene, Xigbar, Lexaeus, Xaldin, Roxas, Xion, Demyx, Luxord, Marluxia, Xemnas? Yeah like you said mine's not solid, I always feel bad ranking characters so I'm pretty bad at it hahA. Zexion/Ienzo is my top boy though, I'm kinda a sucker for all the Radiant Garden squad, like, found families?? yes plz
I've also kinda been in a Saix mood lately, he's such a tragic character and the difference between him and Isa is so intense I love thinking about what must've happened in the time between Radiant Garden falling to the Darkness and when we meet him in KH2. It's definitely gonna make some good drama between him n Lea though mwuhuhu. Also, just the fact that he's always such a cool and collected guy until he gets into a fight and goes berserk, and I love that it totally contrasts with how Axel is such a fiery and loud personality but his fighting style is far more finessed as the Organization assassin. It's so yin yang and subtle and I'm trash for these little details ghh

Ienzo is adorable, makes Zexion that much more likable. True about Radiant Garden, kind of changed my feelings towards those guys. But after going through CoM and 358/2 I didn’t hate the Org guys much at all but I guess I was supposed to. Played KH-II first so wasn’t all that sure about them except I knew Demyx was a real trip and Xigbar made me laugh. I think the thing that makes Axel so far down on my list is that he’s an assassin. I mean, really, *that’s* what you do? You go around killing your own guys just because someone tells you to. I’m probably overthinking it, I imagine he has some actual reason for doing it (but it pissed me when he axed Vexen). Even though Sora is my favorite KH character hands down, Roxas will always be my number two guy. When KH-II started and Roxas was standing there it blew me away (I think I actually shouted!). I had no idea what KH even was (the game came with a used PS-2 I bought) and I was hooked ever since. I didn’t include Xion in my list since I don’t consider her to be an actual org member, but if I included her it would be just about where you did. I actually like Xion (a lot even) but always thought her character was unnecessary at best, and realistically shouldn’t have ever been (hmm, sounds like a line from the dialogue). I want everyone in KH to get a nice ending (except Xehanort (sp?)). Talk about tragic, I was almost hurt by Repliku in CoM. He was just so passionate about everything he did and never seemed bad at all, just very driven and uncompromising. I hope he gets a good ending too. I don’t like Venitus (no surprise) and find his character kind of hard to believe (they pulled *that* out of Ventus, makes no sense, there could never have been that much darkness in Ven). But I hope he snaps out of it too somehow.

He issssssss and I love the concept of someone who has grown up without a heart, spent more time living without one than they have with one. It's just so interesting, and then this person is suddenly given a heart back and just, has no idea how to adjust, and it seems he's even less expressive than Zexion which is just, so fascinatin g gg G. I'm interested to see how he gets along with Sora, or Riku or Kairi. Tbh he needs friends his own age hahA
I'm willing to bet the characters weren't totally finished when CoM came out. It seems to me they were just meant to be villains and nothing further, and developed along with the story. Which is interesting, because it unintentionally gives us characters who act way more villainous in certain situations than others. Fun to think about, yanno?
The thing about Axel I always found interesting, because even though he has no heart, for a long time he's willing to do anything to help Saix-- including offing his own teammates in extreme situations. I've also seen it headcanon'd that Lea and Isa were subjects in the RG experiments, so Axel may have had some grudge against Vexen and Zexion specifically because of their involvment in him and Isa losing their hearts.
Hhhhhh yessss Roxas and Xion are precious. I am highkey hoping they'll both come back and be okay. and yeS how could I forget about Repliku. I really like the idea of him just becoming Riku's younger brother, or else (if I'm really dreaming,) becoming another one of Even's adopted kids (Ienzo the older brother and Xion the younger sister.) But then, I am really a sucker for found families so maybe I'm just reaching. But gosh yeah, Repliku was really just used by everyone around him and it lead to his death. He was just so desperate to be his own person and he deserves someone to help him get that. I really like his brash characterization, like you said. I also ammmmm not really interested in Vanitas, I never understood why he was so popular? But I'm certainly open to being made to be invested in him, if he gets more development in this next game.

I’m really impressed with your KH knowledge. I love KH, and thought I knew a lot about out it, but now I’m learning I’m not as knowledgeable as I should be. But that part where Repliku was shouting at Riku, trying to explain how he feels about things, it sounded like he was about to break down and start crying. I almost did. Poor guy. That’s why I want some kind of resolution for Repliku. And if Namora kills off one of my main guys, I’m going to be really pissed. Not too happy about Aquanort either. She better not end up evil, I won’t like it. This story is supposed to end Xehanort, and it couldn’t be too soon for me. He’s disgusting and seems like the obvious choice for knocking off. The whole BBS ending left me kind of angry, everyone getting screwed like that, that whole situation needs to get fixed. I like that Coded is getting some homage, it was a good game that gets a lot of trash talk (but it did have a weak story). I was wondering if San Fransokio isn’t digital, how can bug blox be there if it isn’t digital. Also, when Elsa killed a heartless, it released a heart. Am I missing something, I thought only keyblades could release hearts and only chosen wielders could use keyblades.

but ugH yes I agree so muCH Repliku is a fantastic character, for having appeared bin one game. Didn't he show up Norted in one of the trailers? So assuming everyone gets a happy ending, it shouldn't beeeeee too dangerous to hope he'll be safe and happy by the end of this? I do really want that as well my man heck
And yeah poor Aqua ackk. She doesn't deserve thissssssssssssss! Xehanort is a pretty nasty dude, I'll be happy to see him taken down for good but not without giving our heroes a good fight, I'd hope. Hmm, I've also heard theories that Aquanort might not be the real Aqua, but I'm not sure I believe them just yet. They're based on the fact that we saw normal Aqua at some point, but I think that could just as easily be from a flashback or even the endgame.
I actually just recently caught up on Coded! I skipped it originally because I heard it was just filler, but I gotta say it had some good moments. I kinda got attached to the Data kids woops. Hope they'll be alright. That's an interesting observation though, maybe it ends up that Sanfransokyo is a digital world like the Tron one? Or maybe the digital world starts leaking into the real? I wonder if it has anything to do with Big Hero Six story specifically? I'll have to think about it more, none of the possibilities I can come up with sound right to me... Hmm, maybe Elsa is a princess of heart or something. Gosh wouldn't it be weird if they gave her a Keybladed haha.

Even though Coded is nowhere near my favorite KH, it was probably the funnest (most ‘gamelike’) of them all. But it was hard as h~||, couldn’t come close to finishing it on high (4) level. As far as normal play goes, I think Coded is the hardest KH hands down. I played it on an emulator so that made it less painful than on that pathetic DS screen. My gut feeling on the Elsa releasing a heart with ice magic is that it was simply a production mistake. No one caught it while making the cut scene. But now it’s canon, no take backs. I do wonder how it will be addressed. I didn’t notice the Replinort, I’m glad I didn’t. This whole ‘norting’ thing is getting out of control.

That would make sense tbh, I don't think I'll stress about it too much for now, cuz we really have very few details on anything lol. I (tentatively) trust the gamemakers will handle things! As far as the whole Norting thing, it is kinda ridiculous but it's also kind of a fun plot device, in terms of making characters that wouldn't usually fight fight each other, (and bringing dead people back to life and whatnot.) I'm willing to forgive it if we get some good drama out of it.

Don’t use a DS, play it on your computer (DeSmuME), there’s even a high resolution plugin for it and you use a regular controller. Makes both 358/2 and Re:Coded worth playing. Ohhh yeah, I did follow the Xion/Riku clip confusion thing. There was plenty of Xion speculation going on even before that, but now it’s everywhere (even though it turned out to not even be Xion). It would be unfair (and hard to explain) to bringing everyone back and then leave her out. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Xion (or Eriquis either ftm). But I’ve had it up to *here* with norting. Don’t want to see any more norts. And to have both Xion and Aqua (the only two female keyblade wielders -and no Kairi doesn’t count- being norted would be goofy).

I've always wondered about that! I think it's safe to assume it was a mixed bag, if or when he learned. At this time he was still very bitter and angry towards the apprentices, but I'm sure there was always a part of him that couldn't help feel affection for Ienzo. I personally headcanon that he considers Ienzo his son, so even if he wanted to hate his Nobody, despise him and be glad he got what was coming to him, there would be an unchangeable part of him that would be very hurt by the news that his child had died (for a second time.)

Yeah, we don't even know if Ienzo went along willingly. From that cutscene of Kingdom Hearts 3DS, Xehanort pretty much fooled everyone including Braig.

Absolutely, Xehanort certainly never told them they'd lose their hearts, I'm sure. I doubt any of the adults would have been okay with that if for Ienzo's safety alone. At the same time, they did presumably horrible experiments in pursuit of knowledge of the heart. Ienzo is a little less accountable because he was a child, and the adults around him were saying this was okay, so of course he may not have been capable of deciding that these things were moral or not. We don't know what happened to his parents, but it seems it had already had some impact on him enough for him to act very withdrawn and silent for a child, so I think it's safe to assume his views were already skewed as well.
(I also like to think Braig was pretty upset by Xehanort killing everyone, but maybe that's just me looking for the good)

I think it's commonly considered he went silent due to trauma, but naturally we don't know what happened to them or if he was even old enough to remember them, so that's speculation. I like to think he's just a weird, super intelligent kid lol.
