Description
Portrait of my friend's horse Stella.ΒI'm hoping to start doing some portrait work of horses, dogs perhaps even people. Hopefully my friend will show this around his stable yard and someone might be interested in getting one done. We shall see.Β
Copics on cartridge paper, just under A4, around 4 hours? (mental note - time next one!!!)

Oh Vnpip she is GORGEOUS! The anatomy is just astounding HOW DO YOU HORSE SO WELL?! I think you could defiantly Β drum up some interest for sure! <3 The depth and angle is just amazing, the nose and face and ears are just wow! Β the eye is just amazing! <3 Yes your realism work just makes my jaw drop! <33 Th colouring is just great and the markings the nose area even looks velvety soft <3 It makesw me remember being close to horses <3 Bootimus <3

Thank you so much! The realism stuff is just what's there. If I can see it generally i can draw it if I measure it correctly. I do love the way that copics can be used like this, it's such a refreshing change from all the blending normally associated with them. I'm glad that you are picking up on the character of the animals that was important for me to achieve. <3Β

Of course their caracter really shines through for me, its not just a blank stare i see if that makes sense! Β I'm not too good at drawing what i see P: Β but i need to be a lot better at it and understandng anatomy too <3 yusyus

I'm speechless! It's amazing. You can feel the horse spirit through his eyes. I also can't believe that you achieved that watercolor effect with copics markers. Bravo! i'm sure many people will be interrested to have a portrait of their horse that nice!

I like how it has a watercoloured look and the way you did the 'fade away' at the neck is a nice artistic touch. This and the one of Kal are well detailed, so I can definitely see you having success doing commissions of people's horses.

Yes I think I'm tried to give it a watercolour look. It's on my mind as I'm having a bit of a dabble with actual watercolours ( not getting very far though - markers are far more accessible) I'm also trying not to overdo certain aspects, hence the fade away. I'm terrible for adding just that little bit more and then spoiling the overall effect, so thanks for noticing that too.Β
I do hope that I might get the opportunity for some success
