Nice. I'm surprised she let you take her picture. The indians I ran into would not.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm happy you were able to interpret that picture that way. Just makes me reflect more on when I take a picture, a story is being created.

I am a story teller when I do photography. I saw this interesting situation and I captured it. Like a painting by Marie Cassatt, everybody who sees it has their own personal interpretation of what it means to them. That is what photography is about to me, the art of story telling. This picture can mean 1000 words different to a person living in Ecuador. This picture can be 1000 words different to Marie Cassatt fan. To me, the artist, it can be read 1000 ways...I see color, I see culture, I see an aboriginal woman. Who is she? Why is she selling tapestries? What kind of life does she live. Does she come by everyday and sell her works just to feed her kids? Hold that pose for 125th of a second because I see a life story unfolding.

that reads allmost like poetry i guess as a woman my response is different than yours would be. i know that feeling of getting behind the lense. its like your seeing another world and your removed from it. for me angles and light become more important than the subject matter. thank you for taking the time to respond to my comment you have wonderful pictures
