Finished Shaw painting. Lot of fun to paint, I really like this character too. Been watching person of interest for a while, but I think its been especially good since her introduction. The episode where they introduced her was excellent. She also feels like a proper badass too lol. I feel too many shows end up having so called badass female characters that act more like they are just putting on a front, she actually feels like she kicks ass and means it though.
Not totally sure about the really saturated background and might have lost the likeness a little but, but Overall I’m pretty damned pleased with it. Awesome portrait! The saturated background gives her even more attention to her face, which you've executed beautifully. I like the composition as well, it looks very mysterious and gives a proper space to her sight.

Really nice choice of colors, and i really like the sorta blocky figures in the background (created by a special brush if im not mistaken?) it makes me think of her standing in cave of golden crystals.
Keep in mind ive actually never watched the show and have no idea wether that is stupid to say or not >.<

He he thank you very much. I'm glad you noticed the blocky bits, using a custom brush yeah. My thinking was to give a kind of fractal glassy look, the show involves a lot of technology and to me that effect has a kind of sci fi feel to it. But a cave of golden crystals is equally as nice lol. Its not stupid to say at all. Thank for commenting, I appreciate it.

Really great work! I don't know the series, but your portrait of her is very vivid ^^ Beautiful colours, especially the shades around her eyes look good to me. It all has a little impressionistic touch I feel, which I like.
I actually don't think that the strong yellow background draws too much attention, it rather supports the character. But that's just my opinion (;

I did try and leave it somewhat painterly so I'm glad you like the slightly more impressionistic style. I also focused on trying to bring some nice shades of colour into the face too so glad that also showed

I'm always excited when I get comments on my work as well, so yea (; When a piece catches my attention I like to leave a few lines and let the artist know ^-^ This one is truly beautiful. I noticed that you upload quite a lot of sketch and practice sheets - the work on them seems to pay off. I look forward to future uploads of you ^^

hehe thank you very much again. Yeah I like to share my practices and show the work that gets you to a finished piece rather than just showing the final products all the time. Plus I love looking at other peoples sketches and stuff myself. Thanks for the encouragement, appreciate it a lot.
