Description This was more of an experiment than anything, to see if I could get my crappy scanner to pretend to be a negative scanner, and I must say, I was surprised with the results. I can tried scanning 35mm colour negatives before and the results were pretty bad, but black and white 120 negatives seem pretty good. Useful, since I can cut out costs of getting the developers to scan them for me!

hey there, what I did was use a normal flatbed scanner, and place some white paper on top of the negative and scanned it, then adjusted it in photoshop. there's some tutorials on youtube and such, that show you other methods to scan in film, like using a desk lamp.

guh i wish i had a scanner when you go to labs for processing your 120 format films and scanning and saving to a cd, do you (or CAN YOU) ask them not to cut the films? i mean scan them in one single roll?

There are times where I really enjoy looking at negatives (or falsified negatives) as opposed to strictly the polished results.

This is one of those times

And hey, that's awesome that you found you can scan them yourself; cost-cutting for the win!!! True non-digital photography can get pretty ridiculous expenditure-wise... one of the reasons that I don't delve too much into it :/ So many art loves, so little moneys ^_^
