How do you take a break from drawing? By drawing other things of course! This time with no line art. Must be all the rage with kids these days. The smash bros dark skin is the coolest.ΒEDIT: not sure what the proper procedure for this is, but I wasn't happy with some stuff and changed it up a bit. So I just replaced the main file on this post. TADA now with less Barney the purple dinosaur. And now I really need to stop working on this and do something else.Β

thats a good painting technique~ Please don't take offense but some of the colors are clashing with the lineart bit otherwise I really like it

Thanks! I'm actually really new to using a tablet for things and drawing digitally so I really appreciate it. The color clashing was intentional. I wanted the high contrast between the yellow accents and the purple background which would compliment the focal point of the eyes. Unless you're talking about how the initial sketch is still visible in places, to which I say I was simply not clean enough to fix hahahahaha.Β

well, i'll point out where I at least think it clashes too hard.Β Gray and yellow mostly, its just catching my eye away from the rest of the art. Mostly just the armor piece. Idk how to fix it tbh, and I like the gray in alot of the places you put it already. Also I like seeing the lineart tbh, its cool. Last maybe concern, but im not sure about the background. not sure 100% if its the color or the way its put on. Maybe less saturation but that is up to you, and I really like this anyways lol.Β

I'm kidding, haha. Looking back I think the reason the armor piece is distracting is because it's hard outlined in contrast to the rest of the soft composition. I could have just kept the armor from sticking out so much by taking out the lines and reducing the contrast. Too late now. It's more an issue of line quality than color clashing (yellow and gray don't clash XP). I'mcurrentlyintheprocessofgettinggood.
