Common monsters that, as their names imply, are Octopus-like and spit rocks at people. Depending on incarnation, they can either be land-dwelling or aquatic, usually disguising themselves as stones or bushes, but they are pests all the same. Some larger varieties, called Big Octos, also exist, and those are generally more dangerous. In Breath of the Wild, the stretchy skin of Octoroks can be repurposed into Balloons that can be used to gain some altitude, or even given to children to play with. Octoroks native to Death Mountain can also swallow rusted weapons and restore them to their original power.

Octorok appears in the Super Smash Bros., series as enemies in Melee's Adventure Mode and 3DS' Smash Run, using its Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword designs, respectively. As the latter, it also appears as a Spirit in Ultimate, represented in battle by Diddy Kong.
