This is terrific! Only complaint I have is the burn scar covering the lips. Very nicely done.Β

I just love your interpretation of Sandor.Β Β This portrait reflects his depth of character and hits all the right notes- capturing his intensity, intelligence and the duality of his fundamental nature.Β It's the finest representation of book canon Sandor that I have come across. Β You are remarkable!

It could be that the scars develop some sort of psoriasis due to the weakness of the skin. Β That may cause some redness and puss as described in the series, especially if he does not care for that sort of ailment properly. But I agree that her descriptions may be exaggerated due to age.

But would is still have puss and be so red 20 years after the accident? And no burnt skin I've ever seen is like it's described in the books...

Thank you! I did a lot of research for the burns....
20-year-old burn wounds simply don't look the way they were described in the book (red and black, still somehow open), they look white and pink like this. I tried my hardest to make them look gnarly, but the fact is that old scars don't look black.
I think perhaps the book described them so terribly because his scarred face is more of a metaphor about unhealed internal wounds. So perhaps they should look like terrible unhealed open wounds... maybe I should paint another portrait with that in mind....

Yes, I agree with you, even in times when skin grafts did not exist, the horror thant Sansa describes looks a bit too much ^^ But maybe it is just an exageration on her part, considering she is 11 or 12 when she sees the Hound for the first time, and completely horrified.
I like this parallel between the scars on his face and his internal wounds ! If the Gravedigger theory proves to be right (pleaaaase), then I hope Sandor will emerge physically changed as well (like, Elder Brother must have an herb mixture somewhere to heal terrible burn wounds).
