I offered to color a piece for *Takumy , because she really had a solid grasp of getting the clean streamlined contours of the female form. So to really showcase how great she is...I decided to do the ONE male character out of the whole gallery
.But seriously. Seriously now.
I really liked the energy in this one, and even though she doesn't specialize in males...neither do I. So here's to a change of pace.

wow thats really good xD if I had to find one bit that didn't look right though it would be the face, maybe its just me? Theres something about it not quite right.. Anyways, I like it alot, I like the hands and the swirlyness in the backround. : D

Oh man, tell ya what, I was having the most ridiculous amount of difficulty finding just the right color for the background. That BG probably has upwards of twenty adjustment layers on it, because I couldn't find a single hue, tone, or saturation that matched. So I can't honestly say the current BG color was my original idea, it's in fact an exhibtion of spontaneous trial and error.

Yep. Funny story, actually.
It was getting late, and I was starting to get this dreadful feeling of "I've done this much, but haven't even touched the wings." I was thinking the usual angelic thing with the big poofy feathers and such, but those are hard. Very hard. Ridiculously hard. But then I decided, hey, I can cheat this one. I had just finished the wisps of clouds around the arms, and while I still had all the brushes ready and at my liking, I just did the outlines of wings in the same style, then did some cloudy fill to give them volume.
And what originally began as a shortcut to pander to my own laziness has become my favorite feature on the character.

Wow, I remember I used to Role play on Gaia and I always imaged my character using wind just like that. Perfect. this is truly a legendary picture to me.

The lines were pretty sketchy to work with, and I was having some difficulties with the order of certain elements (what goes in front, what in back), but I think I've gotten everything relatively ironed out from that.
