Yeah I know that sounds like Rainbow Dash and Applejack The Song but hey I had the training montage Fluttershy idea before I decided to listen to corny 80's music to pump me up (yes corny 80's music pumps me up).
Hurricane Fluttershy is definitely one of my absolute favorite episodes of all time and I couldn't pass up a chance to draw Fluttershy doing her best and since Dash and her have this obvious childhood friendship thing I like to think Dash trained with her a bit after the events of the episode.

I know right? They're the only ones who knew each other in filly days. It's really quite special but rarely explored.

I do have a theory that Rainbow Dash's parents are divorced and she lives with her dad. Β However, we really don't know that much about Fluttershy. Β I'd really like to know about her past.Β

Sounds too real and adult to be more than hinted at in the show. A shame. I wonder why childrens animations are so sensitive nowadays. How many times did Disney and Pixar outright kill the main characters parents in the first 10 minutes? Too many. It's like most other studios are too afraid to delve that deep. Ahhhh FIM deep backstory would be the coolest!

Just because it's "adult or real," doesn't mean it's inappropriate for the show. Β Look at Doctor Who. Β Young kids love the Weeping Angels because they're creepy. Β One of their favorite episodes of the modern series is "Doomsday," because the episode has Cybermen and Daleks killing each other. Β Kids can except intense situations or adult themes so long as things turn out okay in the end.Β

Well you and I might think its appropriate and wonderful but Hasbro doesn't, unfortunately. In my opinion, these more mature but children simplified themes are good for kids. It's best for them to learn some harshness of reality early on.Β
Honestly, though, if FiM got really deep I'd probably end up in tears more than once...

I absolutely love when they're paired in the show! It's like extra awesome because they're the only ones who were friends far before the six got together! Those kind of episodes really get to me~

This picture is just so amazingly wonderful, I just don't know what to say! The depth and structure are very immersive, the colors are vibrant, the painterly strokes really give the grass a soft, enticing motion, everything's just great!

That episode was very interesting... you could really see Dash having a lot more patience than in Dragonshy and how much she really cares about Fluttershy.

Oh yeah it totally is the 80's Rainbow Dash and Applejack song! I wasn't thinking about the mention of Loyalty and Honesty when I was rocking out to friendship on this Fluttershy piece however. There needs to be a montage of Dash and AJ to that song now!
Thank you it was reeeeally tricky to draw. Way too much erasing... That episode was so beautiful. I love when they show the more personal relationships between two of the mane six. Particularly those two because it seems they're the only ones of the mane six who have this childhood friendship.Β

If I had montage skill I would do a PMV of that! At the beginning I was thinking that they put a MLP song in Blood Dragon's credits.
Yeah, sometimes I wonder when the Mane Six (except for Twilight) met with each others. Were they already friends before Summer's Sun Celebration? Of course Pinkie was, but she's friend with everyone, so it doesn't count.
Did AJ and Rarity totally ignore each other until they got stuck with the Elements?
