the scene is very nice and the link between the kid in his stroller and the horses with the barrier of the gate is awesome... though, i'm not a big fan of the square format... the content of the picture is too compact/contained and almost claustrophobic imho. i'm curious what you have cut off ... would love to see the original picture...

I agree completely. I personally am not fond of the compact complexity. The square crop was an attempt to bring the child closer. Frankly, this photo has garnered far more attention than I would have expected. I'm posting the standard version, check it out in my gallery.
