Ryan requested I try to draw some chibi characters, as I think that is where he would like to go with the web comic.I was a little put off, because I've never really drawn chibis before, except for that 1 time in 2005 when I drew the Link picture for my youngest son.
I wasn't sure if I'd get it right. I still don't feel like I've gotten it right just yet, but I think I'm off to a good start. Anyway, these are some of the characters I doodled after checking a quick tutorial.
So I'm learning, and you all know so much more about the 'laws' of Manga than I do. Any tips would be helpful. Hope u guys like!

To be honest i think you shouldn't do the manga styled eyes, try to do it with a bit more of a cartoony look

hey man i think your best bet would be to try and copy what Anthony did to start, you have got the basic idea down but despite your ability to draw in your style you havnt had the same practice with manga obviously, so just like all of us who started drawing manga, when we started we tried to copy the things we thought were cool like dragon ball (z) or naruto! Anthony probably even used reference when he was drawing chibi characters when he was drawing the pages for Rona.. so again i would definitely recommend going and copying some of Anthony's chibi characters to get the style down!

I think people get to obssesed with trying to draw according to the "laws" that sometimes things just look awkward. Like those huge eyes, I mean for some reason it looks alright when some people do it (because it's well within their personality to do it) but I don't know... I feal like you should just do cute cartoons however you feel like.

I'm sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I checked out you and your sister's pages. It's funny cuz you both have a similar style. Are you twins? There were a couple of old greats from marvel comics Sal and John Buscema who were brothers. I always thought that was kinda cool.

For first time chibis (im assuming so please correct me if im wrong) these are wonderful. If there is advice to be given, i would say to concentrate on getting a stylized head and making it consistent. After all, most chibis focus on the head more than anything. ^^
