Word to the wise, never, ever leave your pet mouse/rodent thing around Fort alone.
Also if he gives you that look, run.
Run away and never stop running! He's in his "playful mood" Your lucky if he leaves you with scratches and bruises if he catches you, although he won't kill, but can't promise you won't end up in his jaws at all. ><

Alice had just gone off to find more seeds to feed her new little pet, leaving the small creature with Fort.

Now while usually you can trust him not to tamper with anything you leave near him it doesn't extend to animals.
What Alice doesn't know if that naga's like Fort have an inborn instinct linked to small animals like that. When naga's are young and small mice and other such small creatures are a staple of their diet. He might be full grown and mice can't possibly sustain that huge body of his but his instincts still tell him to catch and eat the tiny creature when he saw it move about.
(Laser-pointers also do the small thing, he acts a fair bit like a cat does in that circumstance. )
