It is basically a fancy word for close-up photography like the subject(drops in this case) were 4 inches away from the camera.

Many cameras have Macro focus, under Macro focus option,
I use that option for most of the macros, sometimes the camera can't focus so I have to use manual focus which is really hard to control on a point&shoot.
