I love this, and if you wanted to make it, lemon wood is also used for recurve bows, not just longbows, yew, hickory, or maple would work too.

this is fantastic and just what i was looking for,i needed a good design for a bow for a tes4blivion mod (and to practice my modeling) and i came across this,here is the bow i based off of your design it's not exact but i am happy with it,with your permission i would like to turn this into an oblivion bow and upload to tesnexus

This is cool, dont know if you know about archery, but there is a type of bow called a compound bow which has cams at the top + bottom. This looks kinda like one of them and it wouldnt take much to make it into one.
Id really like to see that cause all fantasy bows seem to be traditional . . . and i shoot compound . . . so it would be cool to see something different.

Thanks . I know a little about bows, I would like to get a recurve and my friend and her family go to the range. I actually have a new bow design that Ill post up. It would be cool to make one, what could be used to make it?

I think lemon wood is suposed to be good, not sure though . . .

thats for longbows though . . . you'd probably need something different for something with this curvature . . . or need to treat it or something . . .i dunno, ive never really looked into making one (well not classic bows anyway, im a compound kinda guy).

Hey, i like the bow alot!!! Mine is not as cool as that. The spines on the front edge look like they are angled towards the viewer, are they supposed to be?

A bow string wouldnt be thick anyways, unless you are using some high powered bow like the ones they use now.

Its not that hard to draw weapons, just look at some online to get you started.
